Dr. Jorge Chavarria, our relief veterinarian and Texas A&M graduate from 2022. He is a proud father of two dogs, Olivia and Nacho, and a cat named Benji. In his free time, Jorge enjoys fly fishing, outdoor adventures, and traveling. Known for his teaching skills, he loves sharing knowledge with his team, fostering a compassionate environment dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients.
Dr. Romulo Rangel one of our relief veterinarians is a highly respected vet who graduated in 1979. Raised on a ranch in Zapata County, he has built a distinguished career in animal care. Known for his expertise and dedication, Romulo is a beloved figure in his community. In his free time, he enjoys fishing and is a licensed pilot, embracing his passion for the outdoors.
We are so lucky to have Cris as our Assistant Office Manager! Raised in San Pedro, TX, she developed her love for animals before starting in this profession in 2011. Her passion extends beyond her 2 dogs and 2 cats to include her donkeys, horses, and chickens! Cris is excited to be at the forefront of our new clinic operations and is overjoyed to watch our team grow!
Donna is our dedicated veterinary receptionist with over 7 years of experience. A Harlingen native, she spends much of her free time with her 12 dogs, 2 sons, and 2 grandchildren. Firmly believing in the power of community efforts to help animals, Donna loves VMC for its kind and compassionate staff and doctors, making a positive impact on both pets and their families!
Meet Sarah, our lead technician and an animal care expert with 16 years of experience, including eight years working closely with Dr. Zamorano. She shares her home with two senior chihuahuas and eight cats. Passionate about animal behavior and welfare, Sarah provides care to pets in the Rio Grande Valley, dedicating her heart to ensuring every furry friend gets the best care!
Kathleen is our social media manager and technician with over 2.5 years of animal care experience. Aspiring to be a veterinarian, she shares her home with five dogs, a cat, and a foster animal at all times. Born in the Valley, Kathleen loves how her team shares a common goal of animal care, fostering connections with animals and people to make a difference one paw at a time!
Reina, our surgical technician, brings over 2.5 years of experience to our team. Originally from Puerto Rico, she moved to Texas six years ago and has always been committed to helping animals. At home, she dotes on her six pets and finds fulfillment in caring for animals in the clinic. She enjoys her supportive team and loves doing nail art in her free time.
Kim, our technician in her fourth year of a pre-veterinary degree, has seven years of experience in animal care. She has two chickens, and a dog named Coasta. Passionate about fishing, chicken competitions, and social events. Kim eagerly anticipates applying her growing knowledge as a future veterinarian.

Gabby loves to paint and color, finding joy in her creative hobbies. Her favorite part of working here is seeing kittens, and she appreciates how well the team gets along, fostering a supportive and fun environment!
Victoria, our technician, recently started her journey in animal care. Born in Peru, she has lived in Japan, Guam, and California before moving to Texas this year. Her favorite part about working here is interacting with all the animals and learning from the staff and veterinarians.
